Ans 201 The various categories of Govt employee who can be discharged at one month notice of less are given in Appendix-2 of CSR Vol-1, part-II.

Ques 701 Please state the various employees whom rent free accommodation is permissible and where it is specified?
Ans 701 Appendix 7 of C.S.R. Vol-1, part-II. specifies the designation of the Govt. employees to whom the rent-free accommodation is permissible.
Ques 702 The Supdt. Central Jail Patiala asked Assistant Supdt of the jail to reside within distance of one k.m. for the purpose of grant of House Rent Allowance as accommodation was not available in the premises of the jail Comments?
Ans 702 The action of the Supdt Central Jail is in accordance with the provisions Sr.No4 and Note 2 of Appendix 7 of CS.R. Vol-1, Part-Il vide which house rent allowance can be allowed only to such an employee who resides within a distance convenient for the purpose of duties at jail.
Ques 703 A Govt. employee was entitled to rent free accommodation, but the accommodation was not available. Please state whether he will be allowed HRA equal to other employees or some special rate will be admissible. Comments?
Ans 703 As per Govt. instructions on the subject such as employee will be entitled to extra HRA @5% of their pay in addition to normal HRA.
Ques 704 Please state any rent is recoverable for Govt. accommodation for the police constable/ Head constable & DSP etc?
Ans 704 As per Sr. No 5(1) of Appendix 7 of C.S.R. Vol-1, part-ll all police officials below the rank of Assistant or DSP (i.e up to the rank of inspector) are entitled to rent free accommodation.
Ques 705 Please state whether rent is Recoverable from DSP for the accommodation provided to him?
Ans 705 As per Sr. No 5 (1) of Appendix 7 of CSR Vol-1, part-11 rent free accommodation is admissible to the police officials below the rank of DSP Hence rent is recoverable from DSP.
Ques 706 The Principal Physical College Patiala recovered rent for Govt. accommodation from the Supdt of the hostel attached to college Comments?
Ans 706 As per Sr. No 6(1) of Appendix 7 of CSR Vol 1 part-11, Supdt of the Hostel attached to Govt. Educational Institutions is entitled to rent free accommodation. Therefore, the action of the principal is against the provisions of the rules.
Ques 707 A dispensary was maintained by a Local Body and a Govt. Doctor was posted there and was provided with the accommodation in the Dispensary. Please state that any rent is recoverable from the Doctor?
Ans 707 As per Sr. No 7 of Appendix 7 of CSR Vol-1. part-II, Doctor posted to the dispensary maintained by a Municipal Committee is entitled to rent free accommodation. Therefore, no rent is recoverable from the Doctor.
Ques 708 A clerk of the office of the Chemical Examiner Deptt. requested that the rent may not be recovered form his pay on a/c of Govt. Accommodation. Comments?
Ans 708 As per Sr. No 7 of Appendix 7 of C.S.R. Vol-1, part-II, the clerical establishment of Chemical Examiner Deptt. is entitled to rent free accommodation. Therefore, no rent is recoverable, and request is in order.
Ques 709 Mr. Harjit Singh clerk of Central Jail Patiala was provided with Govt. accommodation in the jail premises and no rent was recovered for the accommodation. Please comment?
Ans 709 The action of Supdt jail for not recovering the rent from the pay of the clerk is in accordance with the provisions of Note 3 below Appendix 7 of CS.R. Vol-1, part-II.
Ques 710 An Accounts Clerk was appointed as Accountant for a period of three months. He was allowed to draw compensatory allowance equal to the difference between his pay as Accountant and his pay as Accounts Clerk plus House Rent Allowance. On receiving increment after a month the amount of compensatory allowance equivalent of increment and HRA was reduced from compensatory allowance. Please Comments?
Ans 710 The action of Competent Authority is in accordance with the provisions of Note 4 below Appendix 7 of C.S.R. Vol-1, part-II.
